Mental Health America of the Heartland is committed to promoting mental health as a critical part of overall wellness.
Mental health includes emotional, psychological and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others and make healthy choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood and beyond.
MHAH provides hope and critical resources through our Heartland Housing Initiative, the Compassionate Ear Warmline and Advocacy and Recovery services, and Mental Health Education and Awareness programs.
Let’s stop being embarrassed about mental health issues or afraid to ask for help. Let’s be the first ones to step forward to seek care for ourselves so we can be more supportive of others who need care.
We take this responsibility seriously. We hope you’ll help us as we continue doing all these things…and then some. Learn more about Mental Health America of the Heartland here.
“Overall, I think that living independently is incredible. The fact is that sometimes it is not easy and I get frustrated just like everyone else.
I have faith in myself that I can make the right decisions to live my life. I am the only one responsible for my life. I deserve to live in my own apartment and to be free!!
Today, tomorrow and every day, I will live a powerful life and a life that I love.”
