Building and Maintaining Healthy Personal and Professional Relationships

WHO SHOULD ATTEND: This workshop will be of benefit to social workers, psychologists, professional counselors, masters prepared psychologists, marriage and family therapists and addiction counselors.    

OVERVIEW: Knowing how to develop personal and professional relationships is often easier said than done. Well functioning relationships don’t just happen by chance; they require intention, hard work and practice.

This workshop will explore the complexities of all relationships, focusing primarily on relationships with clients. This workshop will be an opportunity to learn and discuss the challenges and necessity of maintaining clear boundaries.

OBJECTIVES: After attending this workshop the participant will be able to:

  • Explore the role of relationships in our culture and the unique balancing act required by those working in the Mental Health field.
  • Address the ongoing nature of maintaining healthy relationships in the Mental Health field.
  • Identify 5 key Strategies for maintaining healthy boundaries with clients.

 CONTINUING EDUCATION: Mental Health America of the Heartland is a pre-approved provider for social workers through the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board (BSRB) Provider Number 17-007.  This continuing education provider is approved for 1.5 hours for social workers and accepted for psychologists, professional counselors, masters prepared psychologists, marriage and family therapists and addiction counselors.

 Debra Orbuch Grayson, M.S., LCMFT, is a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist, Educator, Supervisor and Trainer.  She has 30 years experience  working with couples, families, groups and businesses on a variety of topics  including healthy relationships, stress management and challenges in the  workplace.  Her services help to educate, support and strengthen family, marital,  personal and organizational relationships.  Her programs provide participants with tools and strategies to live more intentionally.   Ms. Grayson has moved this year from Minneapolis to the Kansas City area and  she looks forward to working with you.  For more information on Debra, check out her website at: www.debraorbuchgrayson.com
