Neurobehavioral Techniques for the Treatment of Chronic Pain, Negative Emotions and Trauma

WHO SHOULD ATTEND: This professional continuing education workshop is designed for social workers, psychologists, therapists, nurses, mental health counselors, and health care workers as well as the community. 

OVERVIEW: The Neurobehavioral Program developed by Dr. John Leonard views the brain, mind and behavior as integrated systems. In this workshop you will learn how to apply these principles reducing stress, negative emotions, pain and releasing trauma.

OBJECTIVES: After attending this workshop, participants should be able to:

  • Explore the most recent neurobiological theories that inform this approach,
  • Learn the mind-body feedback system used to create physical and mental states of well being,
  • Learn ways to practice and develop the skills learned.


Mental Health America of the Heartland is a pre-approved provider for social workers through the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board (BSRB) Provider Number 17-007. This continuing education provider is approved 3.0 hours for social workers and accepted for psychologists, professional counselors, masters prepared psychologists, marriage and family therapists and addiction counselors. For licensed professionals, please bring license # to the workshop to receive your CEU Certificate of Attendance.

A Certificate of Attendance of 3.0 CEU’s will be awarded to each participant.

Jude LaClaire, PhD is a counselor, educator and author.  She has been active in the Mental Health field over the last forty years working in every area of mental health.  She continues to explore new ways to work with depression and anxiety, implementing holistic, practical and powerful ways to overcome depression.  She works with a diverse population of all ages.  She is still excited about this work and enjoys seeing people become happier.
