Leadership From the Inside Out

WHO SHOULD ATTEND: This workshop is designed for case managers, social workers, psychologists, therapists, professional counselors, masters prepared psychologists, marriage and family therapists, addiction counselors and health care workers. Those that work in helping professions and the community are welcome to attend.

OVERVIEW: Who you are as a leader should be no different than who you are as a person. Based on eight areas of mastery, we will explore ways to build your leadership profile and strengthen your unique leadership gifts. Come prepared to participate as this session will be interactive.

OBJECTIVES: After attending this workshop participants will be able to:

  • Develop their own unique authentic influence within their world.
  • Discover how to make an impact as an individual within their sphere of influence.
  • Understand the importance of living in their purpose and bringing their most authentic self to the table everyday.

 CONTINUING EDUCATION: Mental Health America of the Heartland is a pre-approved provider for social workers through the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board (BSRB) Provider Number 17-007. This continuing education provider is approved 2.0 hours for social workers and accepted for psychologists, professional counselors, masters prepared psychologists, marriage and family therapists and addiction counselors.  For licensed professionals, please bring license # to the workshop to receive your CEU Certificate of Attendance. 

A Certificate of Attendance of 2.0 CEU’s will be awarded to each participant.

Sharon McGloin, MSOD, MS, CTRS is President and Owner of Experiential Alternatives, a training/speaking and coaching company that focuses on personal growth and development as it relates to leadership development as well as a variety of seminars from teambuilding and conflict resolution to compassion fatigue. Sharon has worked in residential treatment and psychiatric care for emotionally disturbed children for over 30 years. She had the opportunity to participate in a Train the Trainer program with Jack Canfield, best known for Chicken Soup for the Soul books, and teaches success strategies based on the best selling book The Success Principles by Jack Canfield. Sharon is also an Adjunct Professor at Avila University in Kansas City and teaches the undergraduate and graduate course on Leadership as well as Northwest Missouri State University where she teaches the Trends and Issues in Therapeutic Recreation class.

Sharon holds a Master degree from the University of Missouri in Recreation and Park Administration with an emphasis in Therapeutic Recreation and is Nationally Certified as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist. Sharon also holds a Masters in Organization Development Psychology from Avila University in Kansas City. Sharon is also a Certified Life Coach and has a small coaching practice helping individuals reimagine their lives. Sharon is a lifetime learner and enjoys being a catalyst for others growth and learning.
