Case Studies on Helping Couples

WHO SHOULD ATTEND: This professional continuing education session is designed for social workers, psychologists, therapists and mental health counselors.

OVERVIEW: This highly interactive session with Jim Roberts, MSW offers a dynamic learning experience and CEU opportunity. This session will have different challenging cases of those clients who are in an intimate relationship whether living together, married or same-sex couples.  During this unique session, you will explore strategic approaches, learn therapeutic techniques and gain clinical insight.  You are encouraged to bring your own challenging cases to the study groups.

 CONTINUING EDUCATION: 2.0 hour educational session

Jim Roberts is a social worker in private practice with Madison Avenue Psychological Services. He graduated from the University of Kansas Social Welfare in 1978 and is licensed in Missouri and Kansas.  He has received training in marriage and family therapy from the Family Institute of Kansas City and advanced training in couples therapy from the Menninger Foundation.  He has been a commentator on National Public Radio’s “All Things Considered” and is the author of Deliberate Love: How Couples Can Deepen and Sustain Intimacy with the Mindful Use of Attention, published in 2004.
